“Creativity is intelligence having fun”

-Albert Einstein

I’m Leslie Palensky and this is a compilation of my favorite projects.  I am the Creative Director at Reality Church in Papillion. We are passionate about creativity and think it’s really fun to show people what goes on behind the scenes! Some of these highlighted projects are career projects and some are personal projects. Enjoy!

Creative Director Projects

Absolutely-Free-Options

This is a sermon series we did connected to Easter. The content was ‘Free Grace’. We tried to convey a rustic, vintage look and feel, creating imagery around the cross, which is freeing a complicated system from bondage. Click here or on the image above to see the Bumper Video we made to go along with the series, and a snap shot of the series specific stage design as well!

Booklet-Design-VISTA-1 (dragged)

The Hope Chronicles was an over-arching theme that we broke into four different chapters, or mini-series.  Each mini series had it’s own artwork and video elements, but they all looked and felt the same, creating a very cohesive work from start to finish! One of my all -time favorite projects to date! Click here or on the image above to see the artwork, bumper videos, and the other elements we included in this series!

Survival Mode Slide

Survival Mode was a series we decided to do in the wake of Covid-19. We knew people would be struggling mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally through this pandemic. Our hope was to provide tools to help individuals stay healthy! Click here or on the image above to see the Bumper videos for this series and the stage design we came up with to suit our online only presence!

AYSW-TitleSlide

Are You Still Watching is our most recent series. We based the title on the message that pops up on Netflix after you’ve been watching a TV Show or movie for a long time with no activity on the screen. The idea is to take themes and story lines from the TV shows and movies and use them as illustrations of Biblical truth. Every story is borrowed from THE STORY. Click here or on the image above to see the bumper video for this series, and the really awesome stage design we came up with for this! I laid out all the steps that went into the project. We are proud of the way it turned out!

Overflow, A Youth Event!

Music, Quarantine Dedications, and Songs I’ve Sung

This is a song I wrote for my daughter, Annie. It’s called, Like Annie.

Annie, at age 7, already struggles with ‘loving herself’ sometimes. I’ll find her looking in the mirror trying to “make herself skinnier,” and I’ve heard her say she is a ‘bad kid’ and wishes she was like someone else in her class, etc. It breaks my heart, but I know it’s the world we live in.

So about a month ago I was telling her about a song by one of our favorite artists, Andrew Peterson, called ‘Be Kind to Yourself’. I explained to her that he wrote it for his son and daughter.

After I showed her his song, she goes, “Mommy, will YOU write a song for me?” So I did and I tried to make it sound like Annie- bouncy, cute and quirky.

I played it for her after school the day I wrote it. She got teary eyed and goes, “I’m trying not to smile” 😆 . It was a pretty special moment for us.

This song is called, “Like Annie” and I wrote it… for Annie I hope you enjoy it!
